Quick Notes for February

I don't have anything to write about today, so I'm just going to give some quick thoughts on certain newsbits:

  • The Super Bowl experienced a 34-minute delay when the power went out in the third quarter. Baltimore might've won the game, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was livid during the blackout for he was screaming at NFL officials over the delay. He even hired Jesse Ventura to investigate the blackout to see if there might be a conspiracy behind the blackout (IT WAS THERMITE PAINT).
  • TCU upended number-two ranked Kansas 62-55 on Wednesday for their first Big 12 win in college basketball. Then, Illinois upset number-one ranked Indiana on a last-second buzzer beater 74-72. This is a few of many upsets involving NCAA teams ranked in the top ten. Best not to have an all-No. 1 seeded Final Four in your bracket come March.
  • There's been a lot of talk about PEDs in baseball as of late. All I can say is this video sums up the New York Mets: http://youtu.be/2bMn0DquGBA
  • Almost every team in the Eastern Conference in the NHL currently is either in a playoff spot or is a point back of a playoff spot. And you thought the NBA was "Where Amazing Happens".
